About me

Hannah, the creator behind Felt things

I'm Hannah and I'm the creator behind Felt things.

I live in Hampshire in the UK with my ever patient husband, three little ones and a menagerie of pets.

Needle felting has been my passion for more than five years now and I love creating new makes and teaching others this wonderful craft.

My story

I discovered the therapeutic craft of needle felting in 2018. With a full on schedule it was hard to find the time to do anything for myself and I really craved that. In finding bits of time here and there it quickly grew from a hobby into a full on obsession, and then into a small business making commissions for people from all round the world.

Wanting to share the joy it gives me with others I started designing and making needle felting kits for others to try the craft. In 2021 I started running in person workshops to teach others along with my sister in law through another small business we call Felty Bee Crafts.

Giving others the opportunity to carve some "me time" is a huge motivation and I am passionate about helping others realise the importance of looking after their mental health by exploring their creativity and allowing time out of their daily lives.

Also in 2021 I joined forces with Kerry McIntosh, a talented author and busy mum of twins, who after her breast cancer rollercoaster, was determined to give back with gratitude and focus on a message of positivity through adversity and advocate for change.

During chemo, she wrote ‘Rory Green, Secret Agent to the Queen’, a fast-paced and immersive adventure for 7-9 year olds to keep her young readers gripped to the end and inspired beyond.

We were brought together by chance through a mutual friend and through a joint admiration of each other’s work a beautiful collaboration was born.

Kerry invited me to needle felt her characters to bring them to life to create her book cover.
